The Rapid City Trap Club hosted its annual Class Day shoot on May 7, 2006. Fifty four shooters endured the ever changing Spring weather in the Black Hills. The day began sunny, breezy and warm and proceeded to become windy and rainy, the day ended with bright sunshine. This was the first registered event at the Club during 2006.

In the 16 yard singles targets, five Class Champions were crowned:

Class AA—Foster Bartholow, Rapid City 100x 100

Class A—Terry Treinen, Rapid City 100x 100

Class B—Chuck Kummerle, Rapid City 95 x 100

Class C—Melanie Peil, Martin 93 x 100

Class D-- Michelin Hickenbothan, Spearfish 86 x100

Only one shootoff had to be held for the day. Melanie Peil and Colton Kant tied in Class C Singles. Melanie Peil was the winner 24 to 20.

 

The five yardage champions in the Handicap event were:

19-20 yards - Melanie Peil, 96 x 100

21-22 yards - Greg Johnson, Rapid City 91 x 100

23-24 yards - Darcy Schlecht, Rapid City 89 x 100

25- 26 yards - Bill Powers, Rapid City 95 x 100

27 yards - Matt Bartholow, Rapid City 92 x 100

The Doubles event also had five class winners:

Class AA - Foster Bartholow 100 x 100

Class A - Walt Taylor, Jr., Lead 95 x 100

Class B - Terry Treinen 92 x 100

Class C - Steve Herron, Rapid City 88 x 100

Class D - Ray Widner, Rapid City 82 x 100

 

The next registered shoot at the Rapid City Trap Club will be held May 21.
